I haven't tried the Suzuki gel seat they offer for the Savage, it costs $200 whic h I think is a bit steep. For about $75, my local upholsterer said he can redo my OEM seat with thicker and better quality foam, which would raise the seat height about 1" and provide better padding for my average sized yet aging butt. As I'm 6' tall I wouldn't mind a little extra height for leg position and thicker denser foam might just be the ticket. I haven't done this yet as I don't want to not be able to ride the bike for a couple weeks, but probably will at some point as the stock seat is one of the weakest points of the Savage and I can't hardly stand it for more than a couple hours riding.
